Kaizer Chiefs have said they will not honour their second DStv Premiership match in the space of five days, and will not travel to meet Lamontville Golden Arrows in Durban on Wednesday. This was after Chiefs wrote to the Premier Soccer League late last week asking for a postponement of all four of their league matches in December after 31 cases of Covid-19 at their headquarters in Naturena. The club said the number has risen to 36.

On Tuesday afternoon Chiefs said: “Following further consultations with the medical department and management regarding the ongoing Covid-19 outbreak that occurred at the Village last week, Chiefs is unable to travel for the league match against Golden Arrows.” Chiefs have said they will be unable to put together a team for their matches in December due to the outbreak.

TimesLIVE is informed Chiefs' initial request was declined by the PSL, but the league's executive committee will review the situation in a meeting on Wednesday morning.

Neil Tovey comments really sound as if games are more important than lives of players, Cov kill Mr Tovey, watch yur comments.

Cov is a contagious disease, it's spread fast nd can infect large number of people if it's not controlled, controlled measures, restrict movement, isolate infected individuals from those who are nt infected. For chiefs to honour their games, it will be suicidal to other teams

It's good for Chiefs to stand up and challenge the PSL Position on dealing with teams affected by covid-19. Teams cannot continue to be submissive to unfair rules at their own expense. You showed your leadership as you did during the NPSL ERA were you let to formation of NSL

This is very sad indeed, I hope they all recover soon🥺

Congratulations to the lucky winners yesterday. We are still giving out a payment of R17000 to R19000 to the first 30 people to comment CASH just like we did yesterday .Mike67857

When Pitso complained when he was a coach of sundowns about the same situation ... They said he's a cry baby....

Why tight lipped? They need to be transparent and honest...they owe it to the fans... Kikikikikikiki The Omicron is hitting hard on the economy of the world just as Covid-19 to 2020. If I enjoy this privilege all alone, it shows how ungrateful I’m because I got this opportunity from a post here as well and saw recommendations too. All thanks to the good work of XenderBrian
