Streets were quiet in Rosebank on Friday morning. Many retailers have reportedly been running week-long sales instead of a one-day Black Friday campaign.Very few early shoppers headed into the Rosebank Mall to look for specials on Black Friday.An anticipated early morning surge of shoppers in malls for Black Friday specials was not evident in Rosebank.The Covid-19 pandemic and fears about the rising rate of infections in Gauteng likely saw many shoppers staying away from malls on Black Friday.

Retailers are likely to be disappointed by Black Friday sales if little early morning foot traffic in malls continued throughout the day.
