IEC national spokesperson Kate Bapela said the electoral commission is running a campaign which includes informing voters, through TV adverts and social media posts, to bring own pens on November 1 to avoid the spread of Covid-19

Pretoria – As South Africans go to the polls on November 1 amid a raging Covid-19 pandemic, the Electoral Commission of SA is encouraging voters to carry their own pens to the voting stations in the hotly contested local government elections across the country.

She said if a voter is carrying their own pen, the IEC officials will hand them ballot papers then the individual walks into the voting booth. This was revealed by chief electoral commissioner Sy Mamabolo when he briefed the co-operative governance and traditional affairs portfolio committee in April.

Very biased reporting used to coerce or manipulate. Where is the background in this picture!? What's the overall death toll in 24hrs? Good, unbiased & balanced reporting is what's lacking in S.A. journalism. The media is always used to push a narrative. Hello I come back Here we go again...Obviously we also have to sync our covid waves with the UK.
