KEMPTON PARK - Higher Education, Science and Technology Minister Blade Nzimande on Saturday said the coronavirus pandemic was caused by the human destruction of the environment.

Nzimande warned that if people didn’t start protecting the planet more pandemics were likely to follow. Globally, COVID-19 has infected over one million people with the number expected to rise sharply.

If we don’t protect our environment as we fight COVID-19, some of our scientists tell us that we're still going to have more pandemics. I hope that we take that to heart,” Nzimande said.

What a f**kn wizz!

Perhaps the 7 billion human beings overloading the planet might have contributed somehow?

First time I agree with a SA minister

China being our new colonial masters...and the largest pollutant of our planet. Tough call Mr Min.

Does he not know this virus mutated in China from their eating infected animals. What is he telling people? I thought we were not to pass on false information.

Like MYANC building overpriced coal power stations but dragging your feet on renewable energy supply?

Human being is the cause of the destruction...Nuclear weapons...pollution...deforestation...etc! Coronavirus is just a wake-up call!

Its BillGates and now he is buying the Presidents to let the people die so they minimise population growth.

Sometimes the wise man is the man who just keeps his mouth shut.

Didn't they say this virus is from bats? Was it a lie, Blade? We should probably test all animals and those with killer viruses should be done away with... Coz some humans eat every living organism that's not human Aker 🤦

That man did not say that though. Y'all really pushing the envelope

Well that's rather over simplified. No mention of eating bats?

🤔 how? Cause this wasn't natural it was man made
