Celebrities are either joining in protests, pledging money to bail out protesters or using their platforms to spread awareness as things escalate in the US.

"We're broken and we're disgusted. We cannot normalise this pain," Beyoncé said in a video message on Sunday.Over the past week, many citizens in the US have come out to protest the senseless murder of George Floyd. On 25 May, the 46-year-old black male was apprehended by the police. He died shortly after one of the officers, Derek Chauvin, held him down on the ground, with his knee on his neck. The four officers involved have since been fired from the Minneapolis Police Department and Derek Chauvin has been charged with murder.
