There are demands for more action to curb gang-related violence on the Cape Flats.

Western Cape Community Safety Committee Chairperson, Reagan Allen, said the deployment of the SANDF alone was never going to solve the problem.It's believed the killing is gang-related."The SANDF was not going to be a silver bullet," said Allen.

He stated the need for improved crime intelligence and an improvement in the societal approach to gun violence and gangsterism.
