Golden Arrows are in hot water with the PSL after they were found guilty, and then charged, for using an ineligible player.
PSL prosecutor Zola Majavu confirmed that they have charged the KZN outfit for fielding Simo Mbhele, the 23 midfielder who has made six appearances for the club in the DSTV Premiership. wrote to the PSL to claim that Mbhele is their player, after he had joined them from the KZN Academy. Mbhele featured for Arrows in Premiership matches against SuperSport United, TS Galaxy, AmaZulu, Sekhukhune United, Marumo Gallants and Mamelodi Sundowns. The midfielder also featured in the home and away legs of the MTN8 semi-final against Sundowns.
Arrows run the risk of being docked points by the PSL, though a sanction will be delivered at the hearing on January 20, as confirmed by Majavu. "I can confirm that Golden Arrows have been charged. The charges relate to the fielding of an ineligible player in the name of Mr Brighton Simo Mbhele. That particular case has been enrolled for hearing on the 20th of January at 18h00," Majavu said via the PSL media department.
