Former Springbok prop Cobus Visagie has directed a jibe at England forwards coach Matt Proudfoot in the aftermath of the world champions steamrolling the Roses scrum in London on Saturday.
The Bok scrum dominated England in the set piece to lay the platform for the likes of Kurt-Lee Arendse to shine in a first win for South Africa over the hosts at Twickenham since 2014. Visagie, who played 29 Tests for SA between 1999 and 2003 before retiring from professional rugby in 2009, responded on Twitter to a video posted by former WP prop Tank Lanning extolling the scrumming power on display as Frans Malherbe demolished the England tight five.Proudfoot, the former Scotland prop and Stormers assistant coach, was part of Rassie Erasmus’ backroom staff during the Boks’ successful 2019 World Cup campaign, only to join England the following year.
Now, Visagie has fired shots on social media at Proudfoot, linking Proudfoot’s scrummaging prowess as a player
It was a joke. Why is this news!!
Be magnanimous when you win!
