A tender of R77m was awarded to a private contractor; construction started in 2014 and the project was to be completed in October 2016.

Maria Maditlhare Tlailane, 34, was this week sentenced to five years' direct imprisonment by the Galeshewe regional court.

“In July 2016, Tlailane and an accomplice gained entry into the Hawks’ offices after they gave a security guard a drink laced with an unknown poisonous substance,” said Hawks spokesperson Nomthandazo Mnisi.Cash and other valuables worth R183,000 were stolen.
