Finding him guilty of “gross misconduct”, the tribunal’s report has now been submitted to the chairperson of the Judicial Services Commission which will determine his fate. There, two thirds of members must vote for impeachment, at which time the judge is formally removed from office by the president.

Will Judge President John Hlophe face impeachment after being found guilty of gross misconduct?The Judicial Conduct Tribunal found that Western Cape Judge President John Hlophe had breached sections of the Constitution, when he attempted to influence two justices of the Constitutional Court. I bet that this is the one judge who was paid to swing a court judgment hence the claim that there are some judges who were 'bought' Ag please, spare us this crap. This judge should have been gone long ago. But alas, you scratch my back and I will scratch yours. And he will probably be 'suspended' with full pay and benefits for 25 years. Tsek. This finding by this commission is baffling, to say the least! JSC is planting land mines in its own yard!
