Western Cape health authorities say fearmongering amongst pupils is leading to a low vaccination rate in young people at schools.

MEC Debbie Schäfer says this panic is leading to a significant rise in school drop-out numbers during the pandemic.Kulani Secondary School principal Bonakele Busika says none of the 80 matriculants at his school has registered for the vaccine.READ:

Schäfer said well over R400-million has been spent on PPE and many other essentials needed to combat COVID-19 across schools in the province.* eNCA's Ronald Masinda reports.
