Statement from the ‘Revolutionary Alliance’ is wrong on the economy and in resurrecting the idea of prescribed assets

In one of its darkest hours — and for once Eskom is not at fault — the country could at least bask in the idea of national unity and that we were all pulling together towards the same goal. And then ANC secretary-general Ace Magashule and his counterparts in Cosatu and the SACP had to come in and disabuse us of such naiveté.

But, overall, the president is doing a good job in a difficult situation. And for once he has looked like a man in command not just of the situation but also of his party. I suppose if you are Magashule, you can’t let that last too long. They resurrected another bad idea, recommending that the government “should evaluate and explore all sources of domestic finance, including industrial retirement funds”. In other words, prescribed assets.

When the National Party did prescribed assets, most funds were run on a defined-benefits basis. Workers got their pension payouts irrespective of fund performance, so in effect the money in question was paid out by the employer.

It is now really time to fire this man. He are causing untold damage to our country

Anyone who sees a bright future for SA after Ramaphosa is either deluded or part of this destructive ANC faction. The leadership pipeline in the ANC has dried up, the next cohort are going run SA to the ground. Imagine when you have these ill informed lot running things 🤦🏾‍♂️🙆🏾‍♂️

Surely you would not have survived without having something that paints Magashule_Ace bad. The ANC is a political party with policies on the economy and the SG has a responsibility to pronounce the policy of the organization on related matters.

Can't believe they mentioned Sweden🤯. The only reason I come up with on the refusal of getting funded by the IMF or WB, is hoping to maintain control. From past lootings to future ones. Also getting funded by related org(BricsBank) .

Does the man even realise the impact of taking IMF money on social grants dependents and mitigation of poverty? Whoever is joining Mashaba in his stokvel must know they joining counter revolutionaries & tools of imperialist. It is well known what the IMF & WB do to countries by influencing policy. The mistake ppl make is think Mashaba is for them & 4get that he is a true Capitalist. Mashaba was an Apartheid spie, spent his life working as an enermy agent, so it’s in his best interest to see the sovereign of our country back to the hands of Apartheid architects. His bosses
