Editorial | This week, President Cyril Ramaphosa had to accept the withdrawal of three people – Duma Ndlovu, Freek Robinson and Mike Horn – from the list of those who were set to receive national orders after objections to their nominations were raised

Some functionaries at the Advisory Council on National Orders, the body that facilitates the bestowal of the highest orders to deserving South Africans, are not doing their job.

Had the people at the council been doing their job, they would have realised – even by doing a simple search on Google – that Ndlovu was implicated in state capture by the Zondo commission. Instead, their homework was done by the media and the ANC Veterans’ League.
