The two civil society organisations have written to the SABC to request that Makhathini and Mxakwe be subjected to a hearing which will be open to members of the media.
In a letter written to the SABC on January 17, through their lawyers Webber Wentzel, Sanef and CFP said they are making the request because the allegations in the grievance letter concerning Mxakwe and Makhathini were matters of significant public interest which trigger the constitutional principle of open justice and the right to freedom of expression.Subscribe to News24 for just R75 per month to read all our investigative and in-depth journalism.
