“It has taught us we need an agile defence force, that even though we do not want the defence force to be deployed internally, we must be on hand. We must have the required transportation. We must have tools of the trade for members deployed,” she said. “Looking at what was happening, would it have been wrong for South Africans to stand up to say [that] the police and military, who are defending our liberty, are in need of water and transport? I would say the situation demanded that all right-thinking South Africans would jump in.

It would take one drone from America to decimate our entire defence force.

That'll only be possible if the enablers of the July unrest (within SANDF, Intelligence and SAPS) are identified, and purged. No country can have stability, and achieve economic growth while these fundamental tools of governance remain divided along the governing party's factions

The army cannot be agile while orders come down after weeks. Remember how long they took before soldiers got deployed? The only thing SA needs is an Agile defense minister and a competent president.
