These are the crossovers you can buy with a budget of R10,000 a month.

Crossover SUVs have become a very popular vehicle segment in South Africa, and there are 22 great options that can be afforded with a monthly instalment budget of R10,000.

With their high ground clearance and sturdy construction, Crossovers are better suited to handle South Africa’s often challenging road conditions than the average sedan or hatchback while maintaining a low fuel consumption compared to a normal SUV. This is evident month-on-month, as crossovers such as the Toyota Corolla Cross, Chery Tiggo 4 Pro, Toyota Urban Cruiser, Haval Jolion and the VW T-Cross continue to feature on Naamsa’s monthly top 15 best sellers list.

Experts still recommend that prospective car owners spend no more than 25% of their monthly income on vehicle finance – roughly making R10,000 a month the recommended amount for South Africans earning a salary of around R40,000 a month.
