The forgery and uttering trial of a former senior SAA pilot, who was found to have flown commercial airplanes for more than 20 years with a fake licence, has been postponed for further investigation.
William Chandler made a brief appearance in the Kempton Park Magistrate's Court on Tuesday, with the State submitting that further records to assist with the case were still being sought. Magistrate Sagra Subroyen postponed the matter to June 20, saying it would be the final postponement for further investigations.
Chandler, 62, handed himself over to the police at OR Tambo International Airport in March and was granted R5 000 bail.
Sesona_Ngqaks He had an official 'Commercial Pilot's license'. He faked the fact that he had an 'Airline Transport Pilot's license'. This means he was never legally allowed to fly as a Captain...He broke company regulations not Aviation regulations as he was a Co-Pilot, never a Captain.
Sesona_Ngqaks Give him proper ones, he did not kill anyone. He has proven his competence practically. The papers can be amended 🤷♀️
Sesona_Ngqaks If I hadpower, I would really hive him proper papers. Did any of his passengers suspect unusual movement of the plan? Did he not lent properly? For more 20 years and accident free. Give him dome bells. We have been leading by people with grade 5 and and we did not complain🤔
Sesona_Ngqaks Yes because that is the important thing here, not the CONSTANT LOOTING OF SAA, RIGHT?
Sesona_Ngqaks In other reports they say he had a real commercial pilots license but not accreditation for long haul flights. Sloppy reporting by . Looks like they are on par with DrumMagazine
Sesona_Ngqaks What does uttering mean?
Sesona_Ngqaks Faked records especially from foreign nationals which includes Doctors, teachers etc is our life time experience as the country
