Makola appeared to have pushed assistant referee Cladwin Baloyi after the Citizens' MTN8 final loss to Mamelodi Sundowns in October last year. The 35-year-old has been given a six-month suspension, four of which will be suspended, which means he will only be suspended for two months from 1 February.

"Cape Town City Football Club, as the employer and the club which Makola played and was fixtured for on the day was fined R20 000 which is fully suspended on condition that the same club is not found guilty of a similar misconduct for a period of 24 months calculated from the date of the ruling, which is 21 December 2021.

"This is acknowledging the fact that during the January period, the league would not be in session due to the Afcon. The balance of the four months which are suspended, are suspended on the condition that during the next 18 months from the date of the ruling he is not found guilty of similar misconduct.
