Some traditional leaders in the Vhembe District in Limpopo have told ANC national chairperson, Gwede Mantashe, that squabbles within the ANC leadership are affecting provision of services in communities. Limpopo ANC

“Just do us a favour, leave the other problem and construct one tar road. There were a lot of things which were under our control in the past and the likes and those things have been shifted to the ward councillors. They only consult on the issue of land. But if there’s nothing to do with land, [we] will hear something happening [plan being implement].”

Earlier, ANC Deputy President David Mabuza committed to visiting Limpopo next month in order to engage with traditional leaders about their challenges.Mabuza has emphasised that the ANC will never turn its back against traditional leaders:
