DURBAN – The African National Congress in KwaZulu-Natal said on Friday that as far as it was aware, the party’s national integrity committee had not asked eThekwini mayor Zandile Gumede to step down.
“There was no provincial working committee meeting this week at which we discussed mayor Gumede stepping down and we have not been told by the ANC integrity committee that it has asked her to step down,” the party’s provincial spokesperson, Nomagugu Simelane-Zulu, told African News Agency on Friday afternoon.
The trio was charged with fraud, corruption and racketeering relating to a R208 million Durban Solid Waste tender from 2016 for which service providers were allegedly paid millions of rands but did no work. They were each released on R50 000 bail. Gumede's image has taken a battering since her arrest, with opposition parties, civil society bodies and social groups demanding she exit the mayoral office.
What are they waiting for. Limpopo deputy chair was asked to step aside and she did honorable thing and resigned, stepping aside from ANC activities too. Who's this one so much higher to MYANC
Same old same old lies and more lies. Enjoy even more lies and corruption to Come
ANC speaking with forked tongue again 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

SACP 'predicted' eThekwini mayor Zandile Gumede's run-in with the lawThe SACP in KZN says it had predicted that eThekwini mayor Zandile Gumede would find herself in legal hot water. So why are you still in bed with the thieves, 'integrity committee', what integrity committee?🙇🙇🙇 If the SACP has so much to say why did they not intervene? After all they run the show, not the ANC. They only hide behind the ANC too afraid to contest elections on their own. Hoping ANC will implement their policies on their behalf and be held responsible. sacp is very useless, they did nothing, now they want to be heroes. Never seen such fake communists.
