An ambulance service that fatally collided with three pedestrians in Cato Manor while responding to a medical emergency had allegedly tried to avoid a taxi that had stopped on the middle of the road.

Durban - An ambulance service that fatally colided with three pedestrians in Cato Manor on Monday morning while responding to a medical emergency had allegedly tried to avoid a taxi that had stopped on the middle of the road.

According to KZN police spokesperson Colonel Thembeka Mbele the response vehicle had been travelling on Booth Road when the driver of a taxi had allegedly stopped in the middle of the road. "The driver of the response vehicle tried to avoid colliding with the taxi but he struck four pedestrians that were on the side of the road."Three patients were taken to hospital for medical attention. Two of the pedestrian later passed away. "Mbele said the circumstances surrounding the accident is being investigated.

Taxi driver probably drove off and now the driver of the Ambulance has to face homicide charges.... Will the community report the taxi driver? Probably not, will he stop in the middle of the road again? Definitely.... We need a justice system the works!
