Apology: An earlier version of this article incorrectly stated Afrirent “exonerated itself” with two internal inquiries. The company did an internal review that relied on two independent CoJ inquiries. We apologise for the inaccuracy and confusion caused

Correction and apology: An earlier version of this article incorrectly stated that Afrirent had “exonerated itself” with two internal inquiries. However, the company had said in their statement this week that they had done an internal review that relied on two independent inquiries conducted by the City of Johannesburg and had not done their own investigations. We apologise for the inaccuracy and confusion caused. The article and headlines have been updated accordingly.

The tender was controversially awarded through regulation 32, which allows a municipality to essentially piggyback on a contract awarded to a company by a different municipality. Treasury found that this was done irregularly and not in line with National Treasury’s norms and standards. The CoJ became involved with Afrirent by participating in a contract signed by the Mogale City municipality.

Afrirent was linked to donations to the EFF last year, through among other things a tractor that the EFF went on to donate to communities in Seshego and Blood River in Limpopo.that alleged Afrirent had made payments into an account used for the benefit of the EFF and its leader, Julius Malema. In their statement dated 2 June, Afrirent continued to protest its innocence and complained that the adverse findings against them by Treasury had been inaccurate and unfair.

Trash journalism

Caught on your own lie, botched propaganda exercise.

It's ok ...u wanted to include EFF at all cost.

You see

Datz wat u know, publishing nonsense then come an apologies, is funny that most of ur incompetence are against our black ppl,,

The so called EFF linked company! They tried to tarnish them with corruption.

Trash!

Lol 😂 we told you you’re trash paper, u knew the truth but continued with the lies

You are racist and create narratives aimed at brainwashing people. Your obsession about black people is something else. Go after white thugs who are looting all state owned enterprises. Start with Eskom

You guys must just close down. Your business model is just not sustainable. To make things worse you decided to be on the wrong side of history but taking a stance of defending racist minorities in this country. You will go down in shame

But don't u just realize that you must just close shop? Your relevance is badly eroded by social media & people are now very much aware that you are nothing but a propaganda machine. You do not investigate issues & corruption of white people but you are here to deal with blacks

Minqundu!!
