Hiring a new coach is not a priority for TTM: Chokoe

Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sello Chokoe says hiring a new coach is not a priority for the side seeing that the Christmas break is drawing to a close.

Erol Akbay resigned from the Limpopo GladAfrica Championship side last week under some controversial allegations.

Akbay was the side’s second coach this season after replacing Momcilo Medic who was sacked in September.

Chokoe says the club has opted to give assistant coach Phuti Moafe the next five fixtures and will decide then how to move forward.

The CEO says the changes in technical staff will not affect the club’s plans in the upcoming January transfer window.

Chokoe adds that it is a blessing that the club has other people who are good at scouting like himself.

The former TTM and Baroka FC mentor further says that Vhadau Vha Damani are behind in their targets for the first half of the promotional campaign.

TTM currently occupy fifth position on the Championship table with 15 points from 10 matches.

That is two places and two points from their third place target. Chokoe is pleased that the club is still within a good distance from their objective.

TTM is away in KwaZulu-Natal this week for league matches against log leaders Uthongathi FC and Real Kings tomorrow and on Saturday respectively.

The match against Uthongathi is scheduled for Princess Magogo Stadium (15:30). Ten points separate TTM and the log leaders and Chokoe says four points from the coastal trip would be enough for his side. – Report by Lethabo Kganyago
