Netflix is making a movie about a viral story about a grandmother from Arizona who invited a stranger to Thanksgiving, which blossomed into a friendship.
In 2016 Wanda Dench sent a text to Jamal Hinton, thinking it was her grandson's number. Hinton took her up on the offer, and this year the pair spent their sixth Thanksgiving together.

On Thursday, Variety reported that the streaming service is turning the real-life story into a feature film.
According to the publication, The Thanksgiving Text will recount the true tale that began in 2016.
A Netflix Twitter account confirmed the news.
"Just last week, we were celebrating our 6th Thanksgiving with Jamal (@Jamalhinton12) and Grandma Wanda! And now we get to watch the story come to life as a family on Netflix!"

Wanda and Jamal said in a joint statement: "We are excited to share our story with the world. We hope it inspires more people to reach out and make connections that they wouldn't ordinarily make. We are so blessed to find a genuine friendship brought together by God from a mistaken text message."
