Sandra Bullock takes on the role of an ex-con in search of her sister in the dramatic new film, The Unforgivable.
The movie, co-produced by the Oscar-winning star, tells the tale of Ruth, who was convicted for a heinous crime for which she has served time in prison.
Upon her release, Ruth searches for the one person she cares about most who she had to leave behind - her sister.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Sandra describes the film as a "murder mystery within a very complex character drama."
"There are several people whose lives she affected by this crime she [Ruth] committed, and there's a lot of hatred and anger and bitterness and sorrow associated with her release. She wants to find this one person, the only family she had when she went in, and you keep asking yourself, 'Why can't you let it go? This family member was traumatized by your actions - let it go! Stop harming these people all over again'," she tells the publication.
The film also stars Viola Davis, Jon Bernthal, Vincent D'Onofrio, Richard Thomas, Linda Emond, Aisling Franciosi and Rob Morgan.
The Unforgivable is scheduled for release on Netflix in December 2021.
