While the average post office worker is already concerned about the entity retaining their medical aid contributions, Communications and Digital Technologies Minister Khumbudzo Ntshavheni suggested a 30% salary cut for employees.
The proposal came during a meeting with the department and some unions last weekend, with all unions informed of the potential move early this week.
Ntshavheni also suggested salaries should be paid at a later date, something the unions have rejected, saying they would not go back on salary gains that have been achieved over a number of years.
