JOHANNESBURG - The National Senior Certificate matric class of 2021 overall pass rate stands at 76.4 percent.
Minister of Basic Education and Training, Angie Motshekga, says this is an improvement of 0.2 percent from 2020.It obtained an 85.7 percent pass rate, an improvement of 0.6 percent from 2020.Gauteng scored an 82.8 percent pass rate, down 1.0 percent from 2020.There are still several challenges faced by schools countrywide particularly in poor and rural areas.The matric class of 2021 faced many challenges, including the ongoing effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
All the percent changes should be referred to as percentage point changes. Basic lack of numeracy right there.
