Miss Universe South Africa Natasha Joubert has been identified as a possible Miss Universe 2020 front-runner.

According to reports, the 29th edition of Miss Universe will take place on 16 May 2021 in the United States, although it was previously said that Costa Rica was in talks to host the prestigious beauty pageant.

Previously speaking to Channel24, Natasha said, though she doesn't have a host country preference, she is keeping fingers crossed that the United States would host this year's pageant.

"It is the lucky charm! Demi-Leigh won in Las Vegas, and Zozibini took the Miss Universe title in Atlanta," she said.

Since being announced as South Africa's representative, Natasha has shaken up the leaderboards and nabbed a spot on Missosology's second round of top picks.

"Her beauty exudes wholesomeness and heavenly touch that is just too hard to ignore. Aside from that, she has the gift of gab, just like her predecessors. She's got that much-needed charisma, and it is very evident that she is well trained," the pageantry website reports.

Natasha now joins the Philippines, Mexico, Romania and Peru at the top of the list.

Other pageantry platforms who have taken note of Natasha include KEMUDI by DAMAR and Alvin Sebetero, who have included her in their top 5 picks.

Miss South Africa Shudufhadzo Musida and Miss Supranational South Africa Thato Mosehle have been predicted to perform well at their international pageants later this year too, ranking high on their respective leaderboards.
