Alaska Court System fires magistrate judge who wrote public letter criticizing Republican PartyThe Alaska Court System fired a magistrate judge in Seward who wrote a public letter criticizing the Republican Party: I’d expect this to be very fitting for George Peck. A true Alaskan and a man to be admired. Proud of him, his years of service and his intellect. Great job, George! Speak no ill of The Party apparently. The GQP “is actively trying to steer the U.S. into an authoritarian kleptocracy.” says George Peck. He nailed it; on the national, state and local level the GQP is a party of grifters. What have they ever done to promote the general welfare?

Letter: It is time for Utah leaders to lead with positive, effective measures to keep us safeThank you to the freedom fighting defenders of the right not to be vaccinated nor to wear masks, and for the right to get Covid. Thank you for your part in bringing us to the third year of COVID and a highly infectious one at that. Thank you for your part in reducing my freedoms to enjoy and participate in the culture and arts of Salt Lake City. It is beyond my comprehension why the Legislature and governor of Utah have chosen to enact punitive and restrictive measures to combat COVID rather than setting up strong incentives to encourage the reduction of the spread of COVID. But hey, that seems to be their MO as evidenced by their punitive tax on those who have purchased electric vehicles which help to reduce our unhealthy air. It is way past time for our Legislature and governor to reinforce health rather than to promote death. Or “if you have a good immune system”. Everyone is forgetting about that. Fourteen of every million inhabitants of the African continent have died from exposure to Covid-19, while 2400 of every million American citizens have died from exposure to Covid-19. Why this dramatic disparity of mortality? Ivermectin and Hydrochloroquine. Do your homework! B-b-but MAH FREEDUMBS!

Politics reporters face a minefield in 2022, but would a third party make life easier? Letter from the EditorFew endeavors could be more challenging, I suspect, then launching a third party in America, but what if it is the only way to get past all of this rancor? Culling radical progressives and insurrection-denying conservatives from both parties and merging what remains might elevate the kind of reasonable politicians who once represented this state, people like John Glenn and George Voinovich. Cmon now.
