A woman missing for over two weeks in the Makawao Forest Reserve on Maui, Hawaii, has miraculously been found alive, a family friend confirmed to ABC News.
Eller's SUV was found Thursday, not long after she'd been reported missing, at the base of the Kahakapao Trail. Eller was in good condition, considering the circumstances, and spoke to her father via the helicopter.Earlier in the day, just hours before she was found, the reward for finding Eller was raised to $50,000.

Critics here commenting on how someone gets lost for two weeks on an island have most likely never been out in the “wild”. It is incredibly easy to get disoriented/lost if you’re untrained and lack compass/map. Couple that with dehydration/injuries and things get much rougher.

Been hiking Oahu, Lanai, The Big Island, And Maui for 32 years. While I am thrilled this woman was rescued, the fact that anyone would sit there for 17 days instead of walking out when barely injured is baffling. There is no truly difficult terrain in Hawaii.

Miraculously? Come on. She was super fit, in a warm climate with no major predators and a huge group of friends and family working 24/7 to find and bring her home. Privilege got her into that situation and privilege got her out.
