As last week's insurrection at the U.S. Capitol gathered various extremist factions under one banner, many say it echoes the deadly 2017 Unite the Right Rally in Charlottesville, which brought several neo-Nazis, white supremacists and others together.

“You can wrap yourself in the American flag and call yourself a patriot and say you’re acting on behalf of the country, that you’re serving to protect the country. … But what America were you standing up for?” she asked.

Confederate flags and white supremacist symbols were also present at the 2017 “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville that turned deadly after a car mowed into counterprotesters. The rally, which left one counterprotester dead, brought several neo-Nazi, white supremacist and related groups together, much like the Capitol insurrection, Brooks said.

She said for many extremists, including those present at the Capitol insurrection, President Donald Trump’s election loss has become a new “Lost Cause” of sorts.“This is their new ‘Lost Cause’ and a continuation of the original ‘Lost Cause,’” she said. “They’ve lost, but they hold onto that flag to show that they still feel justified.”

As rioters besieged Capitol Hill, demonstrations flared at statehouses across the country. An internal FBI bulletin has warned of plans for armed protests at all 50 state capitals and in Washington D.C., in the days leading up to President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration. Democratic Congressman Jamie Raskin of Maryland was inside the Capitol building as the violent mob made its way inside. Raskin, who is Jewish, chairs the Subcommittee on Civil Rights and Civil Liberties in Congress and has sat through multiple hearings about the dangers of violent white supremacy. He said he was shocked by the “open manifestations of pro-racist and pro-Nazi ideology.”

impeachment SeditionHasConsequences Given the violent group that are involved in this insurrection and the dark money behind them, many Senators are afraid to do the right thing. Any vote for impeachment should be by secret ballot.

That is a strange angle, it makes it look like the Washington Monument is falling over.

Paradoxically white’s “supremacy” historically has always been unable to win, create, or achieve anything unless is through conniving, murder/enslaving/terrorizing, raping. White “supremacy” is the ultimately lack of genius & superiority. Purest example of weakness/unintelligence

Form an orderly queue here for the Insurrection. Leave all liquids and sharp objects in the trays at the front desk.

Yes very fine people right from Trump's inauguration...

Trump's new job is the Grand Wizard of the KKK aka MAGAs

One wonders how the last four years may have passed if Trump had called out the vile racists exposed in Charlottesville. Republican no longer means conservative. Republican now means white supremacist. We were moving toward a more perfect union. What country do they want back?

Now do the Summer of 2020. Betcha won’t.
