The U.S. will take former Colombian rebel group FARC off a list of terrorist organizations to show support for its 2016 peace pact

The Biden administration will remove a former Colombian rebel group from a list of foreign terrorist organizations, a measure intended to demonstrate American support for a fragile peace agreement with the guerrillas in Colombia, said U.S. and congressional officials with knowledge of the coming announcement.

The officials said the move could come this week, coinciding with the five-year anniversary of the historic peace accord between then-President Juan Manuel Santos and rebels of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, or FARC. Negotiated with U.S. support,

I don’t see how we cannot support the peace process. FARC are, to my understanding, no longer engaging in violence for years, and returned to civic life. If that is the case, would would any US President ignore the. I understand the politics, but reject them over policy.

This is a shame! These people are in Venezuelan territory trafficking with drugs towards USA and Europe and you are going to take them off the list of terrorist organizations? It is already time to denounce their partners within the American society
