in reverse — instead of a feel-good music celebration, it’s a long day’s journey into “Break Stuff.”
John Scher was one of the two Woodstock ’94 vets who put on the show. He’s taken a lot of criticism over the years for doing a shoddy job, so why not let him speak for himself? It’s only fair, right? Here’s Scher in this doc, weighing in on the festival’s sexual violence. It’s worth quoting in full, because it’s one of the 10 stupidest things any human has ever uttered on camera, and you spend the whole scene asking yourself,incidents took place.
The Offspring’s guitarist Noodles sums up the vibe of Griffiss Air Base. “There’s a festival grounds in Germany that was literally built by Hitler. We’ve played there a bunch of times — it’s a great venue, a lot of fun. The air base was less hospitable than the venue built by Nazis.” The doc has way too much tired finger-pointing from media folks, on a festival none of them actually attended, discussing music none of them seem to care about. It’s far more effective interviewing real fans and witnesses, especially a candid EMT who recalls, “I worked Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Rita, and Hurricane Sandy. But whenever people ask me about Woodstock ’99, I always say it was the greatest disaster I ever went to.” Woodstock ’99, Humanity 0.
I worked it in the Record Plant recording truck, I’ll be interested in seeing this and to compare what I saw.

Informative. The girl from Spin mag was full of herself dude from KORN needs to look in a mirror at wut HE could have done Moby whining about not having his name on a piece of wood backstage ridiculous and Jewels antics during Lilith Fair alone disqualify her from casting stones
Great documentary.
What happened? People happened.
I was there and was almost crushed to death when everyone rushed the last buses to get the hell off the base. I was actually pinned up against the bus. It was terrifying.
I observed the security confiscating people’s drugs on the way in. I never knew why, but that’s when things went on fire 2/2
I was there. What happened is simple and never reported. Obviously there were a lot of drugs. On the way into the show there was a security checkpoint. On the first two days I did not observe a single person getting anything confiscated. On the last day, before the mayhem, 1/2
Was there and was miserable the whole. Brought food... Nope no outside food allowed. However a slice of pizza was 10 bucks Water first day 2 bucks day 2 is was 10. The heat was insane. Portapotty filled to overflow and people wallow in it. :(
