OPINION: Why Supreme Court abortion decision empowers women

Fox News' chief legal correspondent Shannon Bream provides details on the Supreme Court's ruling that reverses the long-standing precedent on abortion in America.Every newspaper in America is writing about the remaking of American law surrounding abortion as a result of thein Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case. But it’s not only law that’s being remade – it’s our national perspective on motherhood.

I had the privilege of serving as counsel to Mississippi in Dobbs. My daughter was about six months old when I was asked to help with the case. She traveled with me to Mississippi and to other places as Alliance Defending Freedom, the non-profit law firm for which I work, supported Mississippi in its arguments to overturn Roe.

The Lord gives different callings to women—each of them glorifying to Him. In my case, a calling first and foremost to my family. A calling to be mom to a pint-sized but ferocious red-headed girl and her two boisterous brothers and to be a supportive wife to an amazing husband. And a calling to use my legal skills for God’s glory, too.

America is not a democracy.

That rhetoric is very 1930s Central Europe, disgusting…

This appears to be written by someone who has a very privileged existence. Is she prepared to offer financial assistance to those who are not as fortunate?

Oh my GOD! Even in your opinion pieces you try to tell us not to believe our own eyes? For my own sanity I must say it: Supreme Court decision on abortion does not empower women. In no way, no how, is taking away the choice of abortion empower them.

Empowers women to carry concealed gun in our vaginas.

Does anybody realize only 10 states have more men than women and there are millions more women voters than men? I don’t understand who’s trying to control their bodies. They’re the majority. Whatever women want they can have through the votes.
