The grief caused by a pet's death can be complex, especially if euthanasia is involved and owners had to challenge their caregiving instinct. Here's how they can heal.

, and sorrow we feel when a member of our group is at risk. These sensations serve as a warning alarm. For example, we become distressed if a family member is hurt and our hearts can"break" when a loved one dies. These emotional costs are also part of any deep attachment bond with an animal.or adverse early life experiences because they relied on their dog as a protector, safe companion, and confidante.

If our dog’s organs are shutting down, do we choose to stop their pain? Or do we let them continue suffering so we can enjoy a few more days of their sweet presence? The difficulty inherent in considering euthanasia reflects the underlying tensions of our basic neurochemical feedback loop.Taking the life of a creature we love is uniquely painful. As a caregiver, our urge is to preserve their life and protect them from suffering.

McMillan describes behavioral euthanasia as “one of those things you just can't talk about. It has happened to more people than you think, but we do not talk about it. And a lot of people are holding this profound, complex grief.”

To loose a pet is as hard as to loose a beloved human being.

Sorry for misnumbering, bad tablet night....

1/ Now anyone can overcome the grief and guilt of euthanizing their pet. And feel better, and not just over pets. If I can do it with PTSD, you can do it too... Got negativity to lose and LOVE to regain ...

10/ Same with my sister. Positive emotions are suppressed. When that suppression ends by stopping the negative emotions on top, the positive emotions RISE AUTOMATICALLY!!! With no effort. True. Easy 3 step technique, psychology and emotional research based. No therapist required

8/ The same for HUMAN deaths like my father and sister's deaths, it is not just pets. The same thing happened with the death of my father. He'd given me a hard time looking after him. I had a lot of guilt with that grief. Technique stopped those, and positive thoughts AROSE!!!

6/ My 'Happiness is no Charge' ebooks are available as part of the Smashwords 2022 End of Year Sale! Any book you25% off now: For this get, 'Target: Depression'. Teaches the technique for LOSS!!! Love returns to the surface, naturally...no effort...

4/ would you like a technique that can help stop those hurtful emotions and bring back up all the LOVE and HAPPINESS you had with you beloved best friend, because that love is NOT lost!!! It is just covered up with an 'emotional mud'. You can chop away that mud....

4/ so you suppressed it, it was so painful. And you hid it so people wouldn't think something was wrong with you, or you did not want to breakdown in front of them as you told the why you were crying, so you stifled it. Now......

3/ on the death of pets. Did the technique on ALL of that, eventually it lifted and do you know what came up LOVE!!! Love came back up. The love I had for my cat. And THAT is why it is so hard to recover, because you NEVER want to let go of the LOVE....

2/ which makes it so hard to recover. Also stifling and suppressing all of those emotions. And oh, by the way, I had all of that mentioned in the article and more for my CAT!!! It ain't just dogs. It lay dormant and suppressed for50 years. Came up when working the technique....

1/ 'Finding ways to acknowledge and work through grief is vital to healing from the loss.' It is the lack of processing our emotions of shock, loss, grief, sadness, sorrow, anguish, guilt, mourning, bereavement, and even death and dying over killing our best friend...1/
