Growing up, Vaseline was a staple in our household. I vividly remember my mom greasing me up with the petroleum jelly as soon as I got out of the shower because, as she said, that's when it works best. My grandmother would always say, "You have that girl shining like new money." I didn't mind it, though, because it left my skin looking and feeling amazing.as one of the main steps in my daily routine.
In the winter, my skin tends to get extremely dry, especially on the heels of my feet. I try to soothe them with pedicures, but nothing compares to getting straight out of the shower and then applying a medium coat of Vaseline to my feet . After doing that for a few days, the soles of my feet feel instantly better — without fail.
After talking to my mom about my favorite beauty products recently, I realized that Vaseline has consistently been in my routine throughout my life. My mother also reminded me that she likes to use it for dry patches, scars, and even dark marks. The giant $6 tub will always have a special place in my routine because I was raised on it. And I'd buy it over any high-end skin care any day.
