From cool, dewy European mountain ranges and humid Central Asian forests to the urban sprawl across North America and the arid landscapes of the African continent, millions of people are cooking with only the sun's rays as fuel. This culinary magic is known as solar cooking. Instead of burning a fuel source, solar cooking uses mirrored surfaces to channel and concentrate sunlight into a small space, cooking food while producing zero carbon emissions.According to the World Health Organization , 2.6 billion people around the globe cook their daily meals over open fires.
....and we will all lose weight. No eating at night or on cloudy days.

I´m sure it will work well in winter in Canada, the UK, Europe and even in Beijing !!!!! 'cook those hearty meals while watching the snow fall outside your window' such a heartwarming thought !!!!!
Guess you get cold or raw dinners when the sun don’t shine for weeks on end in the rainy season in Vancouver, or a lot of other places .

Let me know when this is able to be distributed through a compact kitchen counter sized medium, until then, I’m gonna stick to the stove

The regressives love it!
Cool. My precalculus algebra class has, in the conic sections chapter, an example of someone cooking by placing the food at the focus of a mirrored paraboloid.

It is a good idea, but it has some disadvantages. The apparent movement of the sun requires constant shifting of the mirror surfaces so as not to lose the focal point; and when the sky is overcast, the meals are cold.
I live in Michigan. There’s sun here maybe for two days through the whole winter…
