White House fires back at Jeff Bezos over gas price attack: 'Not surprising'

started with a tweet from the president on Saturday demanding that gas companies unilaterally lower prices.

"My message to the companies running gas stations and setting prices at the pump is simple: this is a time of war and global peril. Bring down the price you are charging at the pump to reflect the cost you’re paying for the product. And do it now," he ordered. Gas companies are only the latest subject of Biden's anger as the White House scrambles for solutions — and excuses — for sky-high gas prices and record-breaking inflation.

I really don’t believe Biden has any understanding of economics. The more scarce or the more difficult a substance is to get to the consumer the more costly if becomes. That includes reduced supply, difficulty in transporting the product, taxes, and government regulation.
