Here's where Congress stands on legislation that includes a coronavirus aid check; House to vote Friday

WASHINGTON – Republicans have united against President Joe Biden's $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief package, including several moderate senators who said the legislation is excessive and goes beyond the problems resulting from COVID-19., "The partisan bill Democrats are preparing is stuffed with non-COVID-related liberal goals and more band-aid policies as if the country were going to stay shut down another year.

Though Biden had hoped the legislation would be bipartisan, Democrats on Capitol Hill are eager to pass it, even without Republican support.

Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, first lady Jill Biden and second gentleman Doug Emhoff marked a moment of silence around 6:15 p.m. (2315 GMT) outdoors at the White House after the president's remarks, bowing their heads somberly. Five hundred lit candles lined the White House steps to commemorate the dead and a military band played a soaring rendition of 'Amazing Grace.' I thought he promised to end this pandemic. It must be in the mail with those Georgia Stimulus checks he promised to send immediately. TheCheckIsInTheMail And while millions others are suffering he is dragging his fucking feet to bring them relief. Spare me this bullshit of I care.
