Bryan Wright was the artistic director for a small company in South Carolina when, in late 2021, Russia began massing forces along the border with Ukraine.
Wright felt compelled to help. So he flew to Poland, bumbled his way into Ukraine and, after getting detained a couple times, landed in an apartment in Kyiv.
