What you can learn from 'Game of Thrones' to create a fulfilling career:

final season premiere at Radio City Music Hall on Wednesday, April 3, 2019, in New York. Spoiler alert: If you haven't yet watched the fifth episode of the final season of Game of Thrones, you'll want to stop reading now and return to this article once you've had a chance to catch up. Though these lessons are important, so are the surprises you'll experience in the episode!, I was hoping the final season would lead to his ultimate redemption.

Jaime was in a position to cement the respect he had earned from of the characters in the narrative and end the series in an okay position. Nothing was holding him back, except for himself. He had already done all the hard work! He left Cersei, survived the Battle of Winterfell and got the girl. All he had to do was keep going down the path he had already set himself on.

Cersei was Jaime's comfort zone, and our comfort zone is something that is hard to break away from even when the reality of it is not good for us. Jaime showed us what he wanted in his night of drunken revelry - he wanted Brienne. But when he woke up the next morning sober, and the reality set it, it was likely terrifying because Brienne is precisely the opposite of what he was used to.

What held you back from going out and finding that better job? The one that allowed you to go home every day and feel as though your time at work was well-spent? Years at an unengaging and unfulfilling job have made that your comfort zone. That's not to say it's good for you, but it's what you're used to. That makes it really uncomfortable to try to break away from it and to choose to go down an unfamiliar path.

associate receiving a compliment with being embarrassed or uncomfortable. Deep down, they don't believe they deserve it.The lesson we can learn from Jaime's failure is this: You will never find a fulfilling experience - at work, or in life - if you don't know, emphatically, that you deserve it. It is that knowing that gives you the strength to push past the discomfort that will exist when you are creating a new normal.
