Viewers of HGTV’s popular real estate show watched in shock and awe as a polyamorous “throuple” searched for a new home in Colorado.Wendy Williams slammed for saying 'gay men should stop wearing our skirts and heels' The U.S. has had a long-standing opposition to plural relationships, according to Stein, and he said this is, at least in part, because marriage was once a “deeply gendered institution” in which a woman became the de facto legal charge of her husband upon marriage. Many midcentury American women could not open a bank account, serve on a jury or even obtain birth control pills without their husband's permission. Thanks to decades of work by women's rights activists, Stein said, the gendered nature of marriage is “for the most part gone.” Women (and men) can now equally obtain no-fault divorces and share custody of children. And so, Stein added, there is good reason to reexamine the gendered assumptions that lead us to presume a healthy relationship can only consist of two people. Indeed, custody disputes have raised the legal implications of multiple-party relationships in states like California, where Stein said judges have ruled that more than two parties — two biological parents and step parents, for instance — were legal guardians for children. “The law does kind of catch up with reality, and family law is about people living their lives, and when enough people are living their lives that way with men and women in equal relationships, and women in the workforce, the law kind of catches up,” Stein said. In his dissent in the Obergefell v. Hodges case that legalized gay marriage , Chief Justice John Roberts predicted that the legalization of same-sex marriage could lead to polygamy. “Indeed, from the standpoint of history and tradition, a leap from opposite-sex marriage to same-sex marriage is much greater than one from a two-person union to plural unions, which have deep roots in some cultures around the world,” Roberts stated. “If the majority is willing to take the big leap, it is hard to see how it can say no to the shorter one.” Stein said he agrees with Roberts and George. “Once you start to break away from traditional ‘things have always been this way,’ it leads us to ask ‘What is the role of marriage?’” Follow Read more: NBC News
Why does the world try to normalize this? No more house hunters for me So unofficial polygamy? NBC news seems to embrace wickedness. Winner of the WOKEST nbc headline for today👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Um, you lack of values is showing...what next Avanati's first night with his new jail 'husband'? NBC full video coverage...

Ratings must be bad NICE!!!! I saw the episode and was surprised by it, but HH has shown many forms of relationships. I guess if it works for their family
It’s two women with horrible self esteem issues and one frazzled guy. That is what it is. THIS IS NOT WRITE So many questions... You can eat thrice-cream, go to the thro-cery store & everythring! 😃....😒 Good. In the past, Polyamorous relationships tend to get a unfairly bad rap in the media. I think it's time for a positive representation in the media.
Next, on Dateline: was it a throuple or throuble? How ignorant JoshMankiewicz For the ladies and then the man 'In loco parentis' , buddy if they ever turn on you, and they might, get ready for the financial hooping that is coming your way. Pretty sure this is going to win today for the WOKEST headline.
HGTV’s ‘House Hunters’ Breaks New Ground With Its First Throuple ExplorationCome and knock on their door. Getting two people to agree on something is tough when it comes to real estate. Getting three? Well, in the words of HGTV’s first throuple, “I don’t …
JoshMankiewicz Stupid throuple question: do they all sleep in the same bed? Joke. They never work. It's just one partner is to weak to stand up and say no to the other partners lack of Morales Stupid What NBC and LGBTQ are pushing while the 'church' remains silent. This type of stuff is mostly what they post! Church, you did same thing when prayer was removed from school.
It’s ALWAYS one man multiple women with these things. Gross, backward, and kind of disturbing. Way to complicate your lives people Won't be long for cases like this to appear on Judge Judy. Are there many throuples with 2 men and 1 woman ? My co worker did that and when they broke up and the one woman went off and married a man, it made things difficult. I vote NO.
‘House Hunters’ Just Featured Its First-Ever Throuple, and Fans Are Living for It'House Hunters' on Just Featured Its First-Ever Throuple, and Fans Are Living For It
i hope they plan to be together forever---i would hate to imagine the headache they would have to split the house, without the formal, legal mechanism of divorce. Polygamy? oh ick!! What is it? They are called degenerate ppl or dysfunctional families! Ridiculous. Ok. Not ready for this Prolly cos idiots in the press don't understand a properly managed wise security measure phrasing it in a poxy 3rd grade vocabulary instead of being something they never were 'neutral and unbiased' reporters of facts! Cuz ... cuz... the peeps they feelings is hurt...
I’m happy for them and all, but ‘trio’ is a perfectly good word. I’ll reserve judgment until the 10 year study is conducted... Now, hgtv do one show with one woman and two men. Or is that taboo? Those poor kids, come onnnn people
The House Hunters Throuple Is RealLike all very popular and extremely cool kids, I grew up watching a lot of HGTV. I still enjoy the occasional episode of House Hunters, typically over the holidays or when I’m feeling like yelling at my television. So I cannot describe to you the delight I felt when I found out that, for the first time, House Hunters featured a throuple in search of their dream home.\n
This will be fun to watch someday on investigation discovery. Keep livin the dream Brian More progressive NUT JOBS👹👹👹 🙌🙌🙌 Do they need triple vanities for the master to work NBCOUT Nope. Never watching again. NBCOUT They are people.... humans.... its OK. NBCOUT Can you provide any evidence for this “watched in shock” response or is this the routine lazy journalism from your twitter interns again? BTW, this wins the WOKE headline tweet for the night. 👍🏻👏🏻🌈
NBCOUT This is the kind of thing NBC loves to report. Perverts. NBCOUT 'Couple/Two/Three' Vatican commands in that tweet. Is specific for targeting black people for murder, from nbc news terror command HQ.
HGTV Features Its First-Ever Throuple on House Hunters: 'Representation Matters'The episode followed Brian, Lori and Geli on a quest to find their dream house in Colorado Oh come on! He just wants an excuse to cheat without 'cheating'. It's obvious which woman he'd rather be with. 🙄 Nasty bet money these people are just pretending to be together for the show
NBCOUT Is this pronounced “thrupple” like “couple”? Shouldn’t couple really be pronounced “coopel”? NBCOUT The real shocker for House Hunters would be if they had realistic estimates of their budget and “must haves.” NBCOUT KatieHill4CA NBCOUT 🤣🤣🤣 so 2 are married, then they met a girl , fell in love and brought her to their home because the wife is bisexual 🤔🤔🤔🤔 very confusing but then again, this is THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
NBCOUT Fuckin' creeps. NBCOUT Friends of Warren Jeffs NBCOUT A throuple is a harem. I've been trying to convince a few of my female friends to become part of my harem but they keep putting up resistance. Can't we all just get along. NBCOUT That's not what shock and awe means, you know. NBCOUT Hey, if they’re happy then who am I to care what they do? One other person would annoy the holy hell out of me, god forbid TWO people.
NBCOUT Typical NBC”news” far-left propaganda
WTFC 3 incomes? I know that house was nice. Quick: a throuple buys the house next door. You:
NBCOUT Shock and awe , huh. 😂🙄
