Embattled Alaska child abuse pediatrician will resignDr. Barbara Knox, the embattled head of Alaska’s statewide child abuse forensic clinic, has resigned 'to pursue other opportunities': Her resignation comes days after the publication of an article about a Fairbanks-area military couple who said Knox misdiagnosed their newborn’s brain injuries as abuse, leading them to lose custody of their two children for most of a year. That’s a shame. She always tries to get to the root of the problem. In my opinion. It was the staff, nursing included that talked to parents like there was already abuse and neglect. Dr. Knox did not talk down to parents but was helpful.
