Then everyone will expect a raise if unskilled workers make almost as much as skilled workers. Employers will cut back on hours reducing pay and jobs. Sounds great.
Mississippi and West Virginia and some other states are different. There wages are much lower. So, unlike California or New York 15 an hour is harder on small biz in MS or WV. Manchin is right 11 an hour is easier to not caused too many layoffs in such states.

The minimum wage should be raised to $15.00 an hour. It is fair and just. I am retired and feel Americans deserve to earn a fair wage for their work.

I have trouble with $15 and hour. Maybe $11 or $12. It should be the starting wage but not the final wage. It’s hard to assign that value to some jobs.

It’s popular. It’s also a diversion. Wages are not the issue. Housing/property costs are. A house in 81 was really nice and sold $54k. Now, $285k. It was painted. Corp are buying it up, developing and renting or selling a $30k house for $500k - built from wafer board. Fix that.
Note: it’s popular in places that already have state minimum wages at or near $15 already. A $15 federal minimum wage would be destructive to rural communities and would cause nationwide inflation. No thanks.

it hasn't been raise since 07 that's disgraceful you cant expect Americans to survive on $7.25. how would senators feel if they were paid that much by the hour. the senate needs to pass this measure. centrist and moderate democrats need to cut BS the out.
