“There’s stuff flying in our airspace and we don’t know who it is and it’s not ours. So we should know who it is, especially if it’s an adversary that’s made a technological leap,” said Sen. Marco Rubio , the vice chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee.
Republicans and Democrats alike viewed those steps as positive but long overdue, especially since classification barred lawmakers from publicly discussing the nature of the threats. While lawmakers stayed mum, some former U.S. presidents openly teased juicier details — in the case of some airborne objects, “we can’t explain how they moved,” Barack Obama told late-night host Stephen Colbert last month.
Rubio, whose perch on the Intelligence Committee puts him in a selective group of eight lawmakers privy to the nation's most sensitive intelligence, said he has “no reason to believe” that the report will give credence to theories about extraterrestrials. Instead, he said, the report will detail “advanced technologies that we don’t possess [that] are in our restricted airspace almost on a nightly basis now.
“There have been questions about the sightings and whether they’re natural phenomena, whether they’re drones, whether they’re weather balloons or vehicles from nation-states or non-state actors spying on our military or spying on U.S. citizens,” said Rep. André Carson , who chairs a key subpanel on the Intelligence Committee.

Plenty of evidence: 80 encounters observed with multiple sensors and professionals. Beyond human physics = extraterrestrial by default. Semantic chicanery doesn't negate the phenomenon.

The technology described and shown in released videos existed at least as long ago as April 28, 1976. For 20 min. on that date, my sibling and I saw two, identical craft executing the same “impossible” maneuvers & speeds. Unlikely foreign adversaries could do that 45 years ago.

The point apparently made by Sen. Inhofe — that UFO reports go back many years— does not lend support to the notion that all of this can be attributed to technological advances by an adversary nation. Reporter AndrewDesiderio seems rather poorly informed on the subject matter.
