Truck drivers are keeping America's strained supply chains together, and they're doing it without some services they've relied on. Some truck stops have suddenly limited their hours or closed their showers. “The supplies that we need ... they’re gone.'

As many parts of life have slowed, our country’s supply chain hasn’t. And commercial truck drivers are a crucial part of that chain.

“It’s utter chaos, and we are just literally making it up as we go day by day, never knowing what to expect anywhere we go,” she said.Graham made the difficult decision not to return home until the pandemic subsides, to stay out on the road, because she lives with her grandmother and her 17-year-old daughter.

Graham said the pandemic has brought more uncertainty to daily life for drivers, who are dependent on businesses like truck stops for food, gas, showers and laundry.

CathyJoeGPT .realDonaldTrump Truck drivers, delivery people, grocery store employees and anybody working for an essential business are heros!! I say they all should get combat pay and a permanent raise after the pandemic! COVID19 EverydayHeros

Thank you for all you do, and continue to do. Having been a driver myself for 32+years, I know how difficult it was before all this. Please stay safe & take care. ❤️🇨🇦❤️

My brother is a trucker- some stops are closed, he’s having to adjust how he packs. He cooks and sleeps in his truck. Most drivers have their favorite spots they know they can stop at for supplies, he’s had to shift to actually going to grocery stores.

NPR said shut down grocery stores Sick

Valiant people that our country depends upon! My thanks to them all!

Letter Carriers are encountering the same issue. We are outside working for 6-8 hours per day, but have no easy access to an open restroom to wash up and relieve ourselves.

at least they pretty much have the roads to themselves now

God bless

Truckers are LITERALLY KEEPING AMERICA RUNNING RIGHT NOW . Why on earth would you close rest stop ? That's like telling the mailman he gotta sleep On the floor ?! C'mon now. You gotta be miserable as hell If it wasn't for truck drivers NOTHING WOULD BE ABLE TO GET DONE, AT ALL

Bravo!

the fact the federal government has done absolutely nothing to protect the ecosystems of our grocery stores & pharmacies since the alarm bell started to ring around march 6th should freak every person out from coast to coast - in nyc narrowing food options everyday - scary

A smart country would identify all essential workers and protect them with everything they need to do the job. But not the US. TrumptheWorstPresidentEVER

We’ve been putting our heads together and the FMSCA is actively addressing this issue. As for my company ttn_fleet , we are still supporting drivers 24/7 when they have unscheduled breakdowns. Many were afraid they wouldn’t have support, but we’re here!

My folks are truckers and they're having to take a lot more with them to make it from AR to CA. Its getting pretty worrying for me because almost all of them are still out on the road and over 50

Jeez, it's almost like setting up a food system that requires each piece of food to travel 1300 miles before it hit your plate is a bad idea...or something. Did you work on your garden today? fuckyesIdid

Feel very bad for this man

those trucks stop rolling no food at grocery stores
