Sen. Tammy Duckworth, D-Ill., requested the independent review in early June, just days after federal police cleared peaceful protesters from Lafayette Square, outside the White House, with tear gas and smoke. The GAO, a non-partisan government watchdog, told members of the Senate Armed Services Committee in a

The ADS is a kind of 'heat ray' device that when aimed at an individual gives the sensation of burning skin. A spokesperson for Joint Force Headquarters-National Capital Region, or JFHQ-NCR, confirmed to NPR that the command made the request on June 1, but he said that it came"as a matter of due diligence and prudent military planning" and the command never secured the system.

BLUEPATRIOT6 And this is where we are now. So many do not recognize it. One wonders how people lived through autocrats and did nothing, did not recognize it. But that is us now. 😒

That's horrible.

Move quickly for the love of God! Why is he being allowed to get away with everything He is doing? I thought we had a lot more protection from our government than we have seen. It has been so unnerving to watch what the OrangeBuffoon is getting away with!

I should be reassured, but given this administration's refusal to respond to congressional oversight, I don't think this committee will get anywhere. Only a new administration can right this ship.

Seven Days In June.

If he thinks he needs it, he probably does. Less messy than water cannons. Would you rather see the police overrun by thousands of rioters. It could easily happen.

WTF.Buck Rogers?

The fact Barr and Trump attacked Americans.... why haven't they been impeached?

I have to say that a charge of sedition for someone attempting to break into and destroy a federal courthouse seems appropriate. Barr probably deserves the same charge...

NPR you keep call vicious rioters, 'protestors'. The damage to St. John's Cathedral, the destruction of National Memorials, the organized assault to breach White House grounds is undeniable. If you had evidence of harm to just 'protestors' you would have shown it.

A fucking 'heat ray?' People will believe anything but won't confront the truth.

Heat Ray: non-lethal, directed-energy weapon... designed for area denial, perimeter security and crowd control. Informally, the weapon is also called the heat ray since it works by heating the surface of targets, such as the skin of targeted human beings. HOLY SH**!!!!!!!!!

Zap their asses !!!

Why does it seem like everything this administration does is criminal or corrupt?

I'll give you a couple of BILLION reasons why we need more crackdowns.

Anyone who would use a heat ray on people is a sick psychopath. That testing some horrid weapon on peaceful American protesters was comfortably suggested, shows just how far the “military” police have strayed from their mission. The leadership sets the tone. Fire them.

They were also looking for laser beams and deathrays.

what is he trying to do, make people sweat?

Trump admin wanted to use 'heat ray' on protesters which Pentagon refused to deploy in IraqA military whistleblower said federal officials asked about crowd control technology hours before protesters were forcibly cleared from Lafayette Square in Washington, D.C. Lol that would make for some funny videos. Honestly, a very good idea for looting/arson scenarios. It’s not practical for store and home owners to all shoot back like in Korea town in the 90s during the LA riots, which was the right choice then, and would be the right choice now. YES
