A report by the Justice Department’s inspector general will show how the U.S. got its powers to surveil former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page

The Justice Department’s watchdog is expected to unveil a sweeping, several-hundred page report on Monday that will pull back the curtain on the process by which investigators sought to surveil a former Trump campaign adviser in 2016.

The report by the agency’s inspector general, Michael Horowitz, and made public after witnesses he interviewed were given a chance to respond to the findings, is expected to inflame a partisan debate about the propriety of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s actions.
