As the female driver slumped over the steering wheel, her car was captured on a traffic camera slowly entering the middle of the four-way intersection. Meanwhile, the other cars headed in the same direction were stopped, and cars in the lanes perpendicular to hers were beginning to cross.
The driver's coworker was in a car nearby when she noticed the driver, according to police. She is seen in the video running alongside the car, waving her arms to capture the attention of other cars."Several people got out of their cars and worked together to stop the moving car," the Boynton Beach Police Department wrote in a Facebook post."One woman grabbed a dumbbell from her car and a man used it to smash the rear passenger’s side window.
Police shared the video online in the hopes of thanking those"Good Samaritans" who got involved. After over 300 comments and 1,400 shares, police announced that they were in contact with many of them and planned to honor them in a reunion Thursday. The driver, who has since recovered, will also be in attendance."We don't think it's an understatement to say that these Good Samaritans are an inspiration of goodness in our country today," the department wrote.
