Trader Fred DeMarco works on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange, Friday, Feb. 28, 2020. Global stock markets are falling further on spreading virus fears.
Global financial markets have been rattled by the virus outbreak that has been shutting down industrial centers, emptying shops and severely crimping travel all over the world. More companies are warning investors that their finances will take a hit because of disruptions to supply chains and sales. Governments are taking increasingly drastic measures as they scramble to contain the virus.or a fall of 10% or more from a peak.
Traders have been growing more certain that the Federal Reserve will be forced to cut interest rates to protect the economy, and soon. Goldman said the Fed’s current lack of action amounts to a tightening of rates compared with other nations and their actions to offset the impact of the coronavirus. The sell-off follows months of uncertainty about the spread of the virus, which hit China in December and shut down large swaths of that nation by January. China is still the hardest hit country and has most of the 83,000 cases worldwide and related deaths.
Cruise operators have also been hard hit, with shares sinking 30% or more as shipboard infections rose. But those companies were having a far better day Friday, with some on Wall Street believing that the sell-off was overdone. Shares of Royal Caribbean Cruises rose 4.4%, while Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings gained 7.3%. Carnival’s shares climbed 5.1%.
Quit panicking
Thanks to all previous administrations making the US overly dependent on China. Trump has proven that their policies were huge mistakes.
Well that always happens with Republicans in charge
The percentage is not even close! And ten Million are not going to lose their homes! And banks are not going to be Bailed-out! Freddy & Fanny was a 'planed' failure! 401k's doubled since 2017! Then there's all the Communist & Climate-Ponzi-Schemers running for President!
Very sorry about the hit to your 401k. But since you didn't think it was s big deal on the way up, it can't be a big deal on the way down. Please sell your mutuals, I'm looking to buy.
It's called dumb panic and a great opportunity to buy a few deals. truth

Quick Poll: Wall Street seems concerned over the Coronavirus, but how does Main Street feel about it? Are you worried about the Coronavirus? FollowMe
Mass media is pleased about this news. Practically giddy.
Damn Trump.
Coronavirus began 3 months ago. Where is the Pandemic? REAL TIME STATISTICS on Cases, Deaths & Recovered Worldwide. Definition of Pandemic is “occurring over a wide geographic area and affecting an exceptionally high proportion of the population.”
I'm positive my life will go on.
The deranged left has been praying for a recession, even at the peril of the American people, to slow down the Trump train. The C virus is the perfect storm for them to generate hysteria under the guise of concern.
It will go back up,great time to buy.
Let's go for another 4000,,,do I hear 5000 StockMarket
Next week......🥳everyone buying!!!!
mikestan6
What goes up eventually goes down!
In 2015 Trump tweeted that if the stock market ever fell 1,000 points in a single day, the sitting President should be shot from a giant cannon straight into the sun. Can we please make that happen?
investors are over reacting
2008? Wait wasn’t that BarackObama years?
And WHO [GS] is causing the problem with Wall Street? This is a game to him. It is his life’s joy to ruin economies for his own personal gain...and those people he “owns” or has “purchased” by funding their campaigns. Shall I name them?
Hey realDonaldTrump DO YOUR JOB!
And the sleezy Democrats cheer!!!
I’m begging someone to look into this. Made a meme of my facebook post. And yes I have a man issue! Time for women to rule. Been patted my head all my life while having high IQ including a 35 yr. old union rep in a serious convo! I looked up again from remembering the article.
Still up 50pct since Election Day 2016.
Thanks to doomsday Dems and media malpractice. Really special of y’all to cheerlead this to hurt Trump. The problem is it’s clear to see that it’s your chicken little games that are hurting the markets!!!
But still remains higher than it was in 2008.
KTNV It's sad that we let our fears control us this much.
Would have happened no matter who the President is.
Funny, the Dems were trying to win an election against a favorite then, too. Cratering the market is Soros specialty.
I sold everything i had in the market early this morning, its going to get worse folks. A man that doesnt believe in science is in charge of keeping actual medical professionals from speaking or releasing documents on the issue. There is a reason for this..sellsellsell
Your Fake News!
Good excuse for a correction. Great time to buy.
Buying opportunity.
and it is all bull crap! close down hedging and automated trading and the effect would be zip!
I’m ready to buy ince it starts to show it wants to go back up 💵💵💵
Now_Charlie Democrats are loving it
Is thin when billionaires realize their wealth is an illusion?
All Trump’s fault
Darn Hillary
Still life moves on. Calm down and play down the media hype.
$22B for a border wall when we're still finding tunnels, but only $2.5B for a pandemic. The military will pay for it all
The Fed ready with that socialism for the rich. BernieBeatsTrump
And since most Americans aren’t in the market....who cares? Wealthy people lost money, yawn
The stupid donkeys are crossing this!
The media idiots need to stop stirring the masses and just report ...
By May 1 Dow will be up for year if not sooner. Soros short selling program will fail.
MisterAntiBully Now is the time to buy stocks, DON'T SELL!
another 4K drop next week
I thought the stock market was not trump's fault
You have liberal media to thank for that. Where’s a lawyer so I can bring a class action lawsuit against everyone single MSM “news” agency?
What is DOW?
Time to buy baby!
Hold on. I thought this was Obama's economy. Which is it?
So,a correction?!
Fox News comes through with a soothing take on it all...🙄🙄🙄
Damn, my portfolios
It also popped 600 points at close. That means market was very thin and there is some factor that wanted a HIGHER CLODING PRICE so they “goosed” the prices with last second flurry. Probably a 500 point rally on one big order!
Um..buy?
IMHO, trump played a huge part in this when he finally addressed the fears by stupid, apparent false remarks as he hogged the broadcast before allowing trusted clinical professionals to brief the public. EveryoneKnowsTrumpLies !
Yeah...here’s the thing...it’s not simply ‘Coronavirus fears’...it’s Trump administration response to Coronavirus fears.
Wonder how the stock market will like the rise and fall of affluenza leadership chosen by parties of the body politic, like the story by clive barker where hands stage a revolution against their owners that just leave us all amputated.
JoanieReb Absolutely disgusting ! America has no confidence, in Trump's ability to handle the virus, CRISIS.
Stupidities. 'Markets go up, markets go down'.
A sharp fall in the stock market, as caused the deaths of more Americans, by heart attacks and suicide, than the coronavirusus 🤔🇺🇸🇬🇧✌️🙏.
The stock market is not the real economy. Nor the real world. Most people shouldn't give a shit, but the drumbeat continues to tell them they should. What % of Americans actually own stock?
MisterAntiBully Maybe if China could ever get their shit together...
When should I know when to invest some stocks. Never done it. Was hoping I could get em at the lowest point and ride it up
Buy buy buy
Can of 100 Lysol
Just goes to prove that the Democrats and the MSM hate the American people. I won't forget this come November!!
Is coronavirus the cause or the excuse?
Ave Dow close in 2016 was 17.9K. It maybe sliding because of COVID-19, but 2015 was 17.5K. Economy. This is different. Yet, it's still 7K above what it was back then.
Thank you FuckingChina
And the Democrats rejoice in the demise of Trumps America.
Correction... it's a long awaited correction.
All the winning. Where are all the winners right now?
This is Trumps fault
📌
AP and other news agencies right now,
Yet still double 2008 😮
That’s one irrational rally to end the day. Evidently people trying to buy on a dip. They will likely regret that next week.
Don't buy for a few more weeks. This first quarter is going to be a doozy for many companies. People don't have control of their 401ks because a finance company runs them.
MisterAntiBully Trump said nothing is wrong no one's sick
MisterAntiBully Buckle Up.
Thanks to the media blowing this virus way out of proportion! The common cold & the everyday flu are forms of the coronavirus. Follow precautions as you would any flu symptoms. The MSM wants us to panic. It worked on Wall Street this week. Cost people $.
The stock market was experiencing a delusion bubble. Bragging that China’s crisis would benefit the US worked on the head-in-sand cult. Inability to comprehend our global connectivity is mind-blowingly stupid.
Democrats are jumping for joy!!
Wait til Wednesday AM!😢
The AP couldn’t be more happy to report. Anyway, stocks on sale get em while they’re hot.
Not to worry. Trump will tell us all that it is the Dems fault for this pandemic and that it will be over soon with the application of his 'miracle'.
Looks like a great time to buy!!
So much winning, /DonaldTrump
No worries if J.G. happen to be impeached again, Dow will rise again. btw Economy should be Antivirus. Wat a bogus understanding!
You won't see 1 story about the markets rebounding from the liberal media. And they will.
But trump told us to enjoy our 401k's.
Uhhh it’s time to buy
Good buying op! Keep on maga
thankstrump
Trump banned travel from Wuhan early on. Democrats said it was “too much” and “inhumane”. Then, they blame him even when America has suffered zero casualties. Lol That drop is normal since it’s coming from record highs.
RealChrisTrue
Give us a min your ownership. trump brown ohio
🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
It’s the deep state’s fault!
